NEW YORK, NY August 8, 2016 – Goldman Sachs Asset Management (“GSAM”) today announced the Goldman Sachs Limited Maturity Obligations Fund has been renamed the Goldman Sachs Short-Term Conservative Income Fund. The fund will focus on generating current income and secondarily maintaining an emphasis on preservation of capital and liquidity. Going forward the primary benchmark for the fund will be the Barclays Capital Short-Term U.S. Government/Credit Bond Index with a secondary benchmark as the BofA Merrill Lynch 3-6 Month US Treasury Bill Index.
Managed by GSAM’s Liquidity Solutions money market portfolio management team, the fund was launched in February 2014 as part of GSAM’s efforts to expand product offerings in anticipation of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (“SEC’s”) new Rule 2a-7 amendments taking effect in October. The fund invests in ultra-short duration investments, seeking potentially higher returns with a floating net asset value (NAV), and aims to emphasize the potential preservation of capital and liquidity.
“We launched this product more than two years ago in response to money market reforms; a move early in the industry and ahead of our peers,” said Dave Fishman, Head of GSAM Liquidity Solutions. “We believe this fund is well positioned to help individual and institutional investors diversify as they continue their search for other liquidity options with an emphasis on returns.”
GSAM has offered liquidity solutions to investors for 35 years, bringing an experienced team of 26 specialists averaging 14 years of experience.
